Canonic: Anime Filler Detector • Effective Date: October 5, 2026 • Last updated: October 6, 2026
Canonic: Anime Filler Detector ("the Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how it is processed, and how you can control your data.
Key principle: The Extension does not collect personal data, does not transmit identifying information to third parties, and does not use analytics or usage tracking. The only data it sends to its developer is anonymous error reports about breakages (see Anonymous Error Reports), which stop if you disable or uninstall the Extension, and an issue report only if you choose to submit one (see Issue Reports You Submit).
The Extension reads the HTML content of the pages you visit on the supported streaming platforms:
This information is used to identify which anime show and episodes you are viewing. Page content is never transmitted to any server — it remains entirely on your device for local processing only.
The Extension requests the activeTab permission to query the current tab and detect which streaming platform you are visiting. This allows the popup to identify whether Netflix, Crunchyroll, or Prime Video is loaded and refresh the page if needed to display updated episode data. This permission is used for functionality only and does not access any personal data.
The Extension does not:
The Extension requests the following browser permissions:
All permissions are used solely for the Extension's functionality. No permission is used for analytics, tracking, or data collection beyond what is necessary to display episode information.
The Extension stores the following data locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local:
This data is stored only on your device and is not synced to any cloud service or external server.
The Extension fetches public episode data from animefillerlist.com. When a request is made:
animefillerlist.com is a third-party service with its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policy for details on how they handle requests.
The only other network destination is a small server operated by the developer on Cloudflare Workers that receives the anonymous error reports described below.
The Extension does not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or any other third-party analytics service, and sends no usage pings or heartbeats.
Purpose: to detect when the Extension stops working (for example when a streaming site or animefillerlist.com changes its layout) so it can be fixed. Reports are sent only when something breaks, never during normal use, and never when the Extension is disabled.
source_fetch_failed: fetching animefillerlist.com failed (network error or an HTTP error other than "not found")source_parse_empty: animefillerlist.com responded but no episodes could be readtitle_not_detected: a show page was open but no show title could be foundrows_not_matched: show data loaded but no episode rows could be matched on the pagebadge_wiped_loop: the streaming site repeatedly removed the Extension's badgesscript_error: the Extension's own code threw an uncaught error (only the error type, file and line are sent, never the error message)one-piece), only for source_parse_empty and rows_not_matchedsource_fetch_failednetflix.titleCard), only for title_not_detected and rows_not_matchedTypeError), the Extension's own file name (e.g. content_script.js) and line number, only for script_errorNo page URLs or paths, no page content or titles (other than the show slug above), no account or user information, and no install or device identifier. The server does not store IP addresses; it keeps only aggregate counts per day, event, platform, page type, slug, version, selector group, script error details and country. Error messages and stack traces are never sent. Each distinct report is sent at most once per 24 hours and at most 20 reports per day.
Aggregate counts are kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically. Aggregate counts are stored in the developer's Cloudflare database and reviewed by the developer; no emails are sent.
Reports are not sent while the Extension is disabled, and stop entirely if you uninstall it.
Purpose: to let you tell the developer about a problem (for example a wrong label or missing badges). An issue report is sent only when you press Submit in the popup's "Report an issue" form; nothing is sent when you merely open the form.
No page URL, no page content and no install or device identifier is sent. Please do not include sensitive personal information in the message.
Issue reports are stored in the developer's Cloudflare database and automatically deleted after 180 days. They are read only by the developer and are never sold or shared. To have a report deleted earlier, email the contact address below.
We do not sell, trade, or share your data with any third party. Your information is never sold to advertisers, data brokers, or any other entity.
This Extension complies with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use Policy:
All data stored by the Extension is automatically deleted when you uninstall it from your browser.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date." Continued use of the Extension after updates constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

Summary: We access page content to identify anime episodes, store episode data and settings locally, fetch show data from animefillerlist.com, send anonymous error reports (no personal data, URLs or identifiers; stopped by disabling or uninstalling the extension) to fix breakages, send an issue report (with an optional message and reply-to email) only when you submit the form, and do not otherwise collect personal data or use analytics. Your data is always under your control.
